In the future, the School of Advanced Professional Studies will offer a broad range of continuing education programs and strengthen the visibility and strategic positioning of both universities in the continuing education market.
Connecting Academia, Industry, and Society
“We will create a platform with this new institution that not only offers high-quality continuing education but also promotes networking between academia, industry, and society,” explains Prof. Kornelia Freitag, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Ruhr University Bochum. The collaboration between TU Dortmund University and Ruhr University Bochum creates strong synergies, enabling the development of joint continuing education programs and their efficient marketing. “The founding of the School of Advanced Professional Studies is an important step toward aligning our continuing education programs even more closely with the needs of participants and thereby elevating university knowledge transfer to a new level,” emphasizes Prof. Wiebke Möhring, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at TU Dortmund University.
Next Steps and Quality Assurance
After the gGmbH has been established, the partners will jointly develop the specific content of the continuing education programs as well as the organizational measures. This will also include designing workflows and developing a concept for quality assurance.
