Alumnitreffen des Programms Studienbrücke

Since 2014, "StudyBridge" has enabled international prospective students to enter a Bachelor's degree course at a German partner university directly. The joint educational program of the University Alliance (UA) Ruhr, the Goethe-Institut and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) prepares them in their home countries - primarily in Eastern Europe and Asia - to study at one of the German partner universities. At the second alumni meeting, which took place on November 20 at the International Meeting Center (IBZ) at TU Dortmund University, former participants came together - including Ha Phuong Ta from Vietnam and Nika Titarenko from Ukraine.

The former participants came together at the Alumni reunion in the International Meeting Center (IBZ) at the TU University Dortmund.

Interview3

"I already knew at the age of 16 that I wanted to go to Germany to study," says Nika Titarenko (photo right), who is studying Data Science in her first Bachelor's semester at TU Dortmund University. She acquired the necessary (language) skills and certificates via StudyBridge. The Ukrainian student appreciates the quality of studies and the support services for students in Germany and already feels at home in her new country.

Interview2

Ha Phuong Ta (photo left) is in her seventh bachelor's semester studying Applied Computer Science at TU Dortmund University. She found out about StudyBridge through an acquaintance who works as a German teacher in Vietnam. During a trip to Germany, she got to know and love the country: "I really like the culture and the people here." StudyBridge gave her the opportunity to prepare optimally for studying in Germany without having to complete an extra year at a preparatory college beforehand.

Future plans in Germany

Both students see good career prospects for themselves in Germany. Ha Phuong Ta only has to write her Bachelor's thesis and is currently considering whether she will go on to study for a Master's degree or start a career. She is already certain that she wants to stay in NRW. Although she only started her studies this semester, Nika Titarenko has already set her sights on a company at Phoenixsee in Dortmund, where she would like to work later on.

At the second alumni meeting, the two were able to exchange ideas with other alumni and take part in workshops on the topics of "Career opportunities in science" and "Start-ups and transfer". At a joint science slam, the StudyBridge Alumni also gave each other entertaining insights into the content of their studies.
