The Ukrainian Consul General visited Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The focus was on future opportunities for cooperation.

Iryna Shum, Ukrainian Consul General, was invited to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum on October 31, 2023. She expressly praised Ruhr-Universität's great commitment to Ukraine, which is expressed in various programs, including the Ukraine Digital and Future Ukraine formats funded by the German Academic Exchange Service.

Shum spoke with Rector Prof. Dr. Martin Paul, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies Prof. Dr. Kornelia Freitag and Elena Resch, Head of the UA Ruhr Liaison Office for Eastern Europe/Central Asia, about the prospects for possible cooperation from next year. Scientific and cultural events as well as the strengthening of Ukrainian universities through integration into university networks are all significant posibilities. A close exchange and cooperation with the consulate is highly desirable. Another major topic was the reconstruction of Ukraine in the coming years.
