7th Materials Chain International Conference on Future Energy Materials and Systems

Materials are central to achieving a sustainable energy future. We urgently need innovative materials systems that can efficiently harvest, store, transport, and convert energy efficiently while minimizing environmental impact. Meeting this challenge requires not only the discovery and design of novel materials and processes but also the rapid transition from academic research to large-scale industrial production.

The 7th Materials Chain International Conference: Future Energy Materials and Systems will bring together leading scientist in materials science and processing to explore the latest advancements and applications of next-generation materials for energy systems. The event will highlight the Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems, newly established within the Research Alliance Ruhr. The program will also feature invited talks by internationally recognized experts, as well as a poster session, offering a platform to present cutting-edge research, share insights, and foster collaboration.

The 7th Materials Chain International Conference: Future Energy Materials and Systems takes place on September 22, 2025, at the Convention Centre of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

About the Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems
The Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems (RC FEMS) aims to develop innovative, sustainable materials for future energy systems. Through interdisciplinary research across three Ruhr universities, we explore quantum processes, understand and design high-performance materials, and create scalable methods for synthesis, processing, and testing to bridge the gap between fundamental science and real-world applications.
